How To: Thanksgiving Dessert Table

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, the team at Magenta decided to highlight our Elemental Luxe Collection as it is the perfect serveware for the holidays. When it comes to Turkey Day, the main meal tends to be the start of the show. However, we wanted to show you how to end your meal with a beautifully styled desserts and completely wow your guests.

Here are our tips to show how to put together an easy, beautiful dessert table for Thanksgiving.

Signage

We created a "Give Thanks" banner using twine, gold letters and tape. We bought the letters at a craft store however you could put any Seasonal artwork as the backdrop, or even a mirror to give your desert table even more depth.

Add Height + Depth

Dessert looks really good when served at a variety of heights and depths. In order to create this look we used our large cake plate, small cake plate and crudite tray with feet to give variation. Try to think multi-dimensional and place the higher items towards the back. Doing this will add visual variety to the table and keep it from looking flat.

Serve yourself

To maintain hygiene provide your guests with pie and cake servers and tongs. Have utensils handy as well as plates and napkins.

We added candlesticks to the table because it felt romantic and elegant. The metallic candle holders also tied in the gold detailing from all the Elemental Luxe pieces as well as the banner.

Food Styling

To create a cohesive look for the table, pick decor and food that reflects a theme. For this table we had mini pumpkins, cotton branches, and a green garland to reflect the time of Harvest. Provide your guests with a variety of foods, flavors and candy so they can decide just how much sweetness they want to indulge in. We also choose a variety of seasonal desserts including pie and pumpkin logs.

Set Up Early

Your dessert table is going to be beautiful, so set it ahead of time. This allows your guests to admire it throughout the day or evening. It also gives you the time to take photos of your beautiful display. Make sure to keep all refrigerated goods cold until time to take them out.
